Senna leaves

Senna Leaves are a traditional herbal remedy known for supporting bowel movements and gentle digestive cleansing. Senna is also connected to Prophetic medicine, as it was mentioned in narrations for its cleansing properties. The Prophet ﷺ is reported to have spoken about senna and sanut, and scholars of Sunnah medicine have long regarded senna as a beneficial herb used to help cleanse and lighten the body naturally. Traditionally, it has been used to support constipation relief, digestive stagnation, and detoxification routines.

To use:

Add ½–1 teaspoon of senna leaves to a cup.

Pour over hot water.

Steep for 5–10 minutes.

Strain and drink, preferably at night.

Best used short-term only and not daily unless advised by a qualified practitioner.

Because senna is naturally strong, overuse may cause cramping or loose stools. It should not be used long-term, during pregnancy, or by those with certain medical conditions unless advised by a health professional.
